CO-INVEST FINANCE GROUP
The Bain Capital Co-invest Finance Group is currently a team of eleven individuals responsible for overseeing the entities that hold investments made by Bain Capital employees in and alongside the firm’s private equity, public equity, leveraged debt and absolute return capital partnerships.  The Co-invest operations include portfolio management, fund accounting and reporting, tax return preparation and reporting, treasury function and investor relations.  Members of the team work closely with the firm’s outside advisors such as attorneys, bankers, custodians and accounting and tax professionals. 

Position Qualifications

• 7-10 years accounting or tax experience in the financial service industry with a solid understanding of investments (experience with partnerships is desired)
• Excellent project management and organizational skills; ability to effectively prioritize multiple projects with high attention to detail
• Creative problem solving ability and sound judgment – ability to use own initiative and take responsibility for decisions
• Strong interpersonal skills with capacity to interact with all levels
• Works well independently
• Experience managing direct reports
• Understands and enjoys the demands of a service environment
• Capability to handle highly confidential and sensitive information
• Advanced MS Office, particularly Excel

DESIRED EDUCATION
• Bachelors Degree in Accounting

Position Responsibilities

• Responsible for managing a number of the co-invest partnerships and working with and supervising staff on the following:

  - Quarterly and year end accounting and reporting
  - Preparation and review of annual tax basis books
  - New investment activity and harvest activity
  - Cash and stock distributions
  - Cash management

• Annual tax basis book preparation-working with internal tax department and external advisors regarding tax implication of complex investment transactions
• Understanding and documenting investment transactions; working with other finance departments, deal staff and outside advisors on deal closings and harvest transactions
• Analysis of various limited partners and partnership processes in order to ensure we are in compliance with SEC requirements
• Responding to investor requests and inquiries
• Ad hoc projects surrounding the numerous IT systems we have to support the coinvest finance function
• Work with Finance Director and VP of Finance on projects to enhance the productivity of the team, department and firm
